If you had told us a year and a half ago just how quickly the wedding industry in Asheville and Western North Carolina would begin coming back to life, we probably would have looked at you sideways for a second.
After the devastation from the storms that rolled through Asheville, WNC, and so many areas across the southeast, there were moments where everything felt uncertain. Venues were damaged, businesses were hurting, schedules were paused, and so many families and couples were simply trying to recover day by day. It was emotional for everyone involved in the wedding world because this industry is not just business around here — it is people, relationships, memories, and community.
But let me tell y’all something… Western North Carolina is built different.
The strength, resilience, faith, and determination of this community has been absolutely incredible to witness. Couples never stopped dreaming about their wedding days, vendors never stopped creating, and little by little, the mountains started shining bright again with celebrations, laughter, music, dancing, and love.
And now? Weddings are BACK strong in Asheville and all across WNC.
Some of the biggest wedding weekends we are seeing this year are dates like 5/30, 6/6, 6/9, and 7/25 — which around here feels like Christmas in July with the amount of weddings happening! Our team is honored to be working several weddings on all of those dates, while many other weekends throughout the year are filling up quickly as well.
Honestly, it has been emotional in the best way possible.
There is something incredibly special about watching brides smile again, seeing bridal parties laughing together in the makeup chairs, hearing families celebrate, and knowing that these mountain communities are continuing to thrive through it all. Every wedding feels a little more meaningful these days. Every “I do” feels like hope.
As a hair and makeup team, we never take for granted the opportunity to be part of one of the most important days of someone’s life. We are beyond thankful to continue serving this beautiful region, supporting local venues and vendors, and helping bring wedding visions to life for couples visiting Asheville and Western North Carolina from all over the country.
